What we collect and why

Speaking and booking requests

When you use the speaking or booking form, we receive your name, e-mail address, event name, date, city and country, preferred format (in person, remote or hybrid) and your message.

We use this information to answer your request. The form sends it to WebOption by e-mail, and the site does not keep a copy in its database.

Legal basis: under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), art. 7, V (steps taken at your request before a contract) and art. 7, IX (legitimate interest). Under the GDPR, art. 6(1)(b) and art. 6(1)(f).

Newsletter

When you subscribe to the newsletter, we receive your e-mail address and use it only to send you the newsletter. The form sends it to WebOption by e-mail, and the site does not keep a copy in its database.

Legal basis: your consent (LGPD art. 7, I; GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or by replying to any newsletter e-mail.

Analytics, only with your consent

We use two analytics tools. Both depend on your choice in the cookie banner:

  • Google Analytics 4, through Google Site Kit, to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses Google Consent Mode: if you do not accept, no analytics cookies are set.
  • Microsoft Clarity, to see how the pages are used, through heatmaps and session recordings: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, the pages you visit, your device and browser. Clarity masks what you type into form fields. It uses Clarity consent mode: if you do not accept, it sets no cookies.

You can accept, reject or change your choice later in the cookie banner.

Legal basis: your consent (LGPD art. 7, I; GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).

Server logs

Like most web servers, our hosting server keeps access logs with your IP address, browser, date and time, and the page you requested. We use these logs to keep the site secure and running, and we keep them for a limited time.

Cookies

The site does not use cookies for its content or its language: the language comes from the URL (English at / and Portuguese at /pt/). The cookie banner stores your choice in one cookie, so it does not ask again on every page.

The analytics cookies in the table are set only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the providers we need to run the site:

  • our e-mail service provider, which delivers form submissions and the newsletter;
  • our hosting provider, which runs the server and keeps the access logs;
  • Google, for analytics, and only if you give consent;
  • Microsoft, for Clarity, and only if you give consent.

We do not sell personal data. We do not make automated decisions about you.

International transfers

Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation process analytics data in the United States and other countries. This is an international transfer under LGPD art. 33 and Chapter V of the GDPR. Both companies rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for these transfers. Microsoft describes how it handles Clarity data in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

How long we keep data

  • Request e-mails: as long as needed to handle your request and any business relationship that follows from it, and as long as the law requires.
  • Newsletter e-mail address: until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data: according to the retention period set in Google Analytics, up to 14 months. Clarity data follows the retention rules of Microsoft Clarity.
  • Server logs: for a limited time.

Your rights

Under LGPD art. 18 you have the right to:

  • confirm whether we process your data;
  • access your data;
  • correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
  • have data anonymized, blocked or deleted;
  • data portability;
  • know who we share your data with;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • object to processing.

If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify and erase your data, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing, and lodge a complaint.

To use any of these rights, write to contato@weboption.com.br. We will reply within the deadline set by law.

You can also file a complaint with the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD) or, in the EU and EEA, with your local supervisory authority.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 18.

Articles and pages link to other sites, such as WordCamp, YouTube and LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we publish the new version on this page with the new date.
